Thank you for taking the time to prioritize YOU to reach your 8 week goals in mind, body and spirit!

We will have drawings for those with the most participation and for those that reached goals.  We will be post-testing for the next two weeks and posting testimonies.

Make new goals for 30 days (until Easter), June 1st and end of 2019.

Wellness is a journey...not a destination.  Add workouts at Sorgs to your calendar at least 2-3 days per week to not only to reach but MAINTAIN your goals.

Working out builds your resilience along with your muscles.

Working out helps you feel capable of taking on all types of challenges and gives you a healthy outlet to relieve stress. You will feel more energized and your self esteem will soar as you get stronger and achieve your desired results.

The chemicals released during exercise are also effective in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD and has even proven effective against PTSD.

Exercise is medicine for the mind, BODY and spirit.

You already know that strength training 3x per week will help build lean muscle, which will boost your metabolism and help you lose weight. Regular exercise also builds bone density, keeps skin healthy, helps you sleep, increases energy and reduces risk of chronic diseases. 

Dr Kirchner worked out at Sorgs 3 days per week, did Univera Metabolic Makeover, and ate lean and green plus healthy fats and 1 protein shake to lose 20 pounds in 3 weeks. 

1 hour of exercise per day keeps the doctor away!

Regular exercise can actually keep our brain healthy as well as our body. 

-Strength training enhances concentration and increases decision making skills. 

-Moving your body fends off memory loss and helps keep our cognitive function strong as we age. 

-New studies are even showing regular exercise can diminish the risk of dementia and Alzheimers. 

Can you work out one hour every day until the fitness challenge is over on Monday?

  • Are you reading or listening to something motivational or inspirational every day for at least 10 minutes? 
  • Are you still taking away from the JUNK you chose to give up? 
  • Are you spending within budget and only on things that benefit you and your family?

Another area you can detox is your finances.  Spend money for 40 days on only necessities.  Every time you give up buying JUNK, put the money saved in a jar for something you VALUE -  family emergency fund, vacation, mission trip, pay off debt, etc.  
Ways to save:
1. Cut off cable, review current bills and call to ask how to save.
2. Eat out no more than 1 time weekly.
3.Wait to buy yourself something until it is a reward for accomplishing a goal.
What VALUE could you save money for?

Another thing you can detox this Lenten season is your schedule.  

Are you too B.U.S.Y (Busy Under Satan’s Yoke) to enjoy the your many blessings.  Does your time match your values (spending quality time with your Creator, family meals/games/downtime, working out, cooking healthy, FUN, weekly date night, etc)

Some ideas to find more time for what truly matters:
1.   Fast from social media and electronics for 40 days.
2.  Put phone and emails in time out 8pm-8am
3.  Put boundaries on work schedule. 
4.  Eat at home and have family help cook and clean.
5.  Bring healthy food and workout clothes with you everywhere.  Workout at lunch vs. out to eat. Workout between kids sporting events.

Change your brain...Change your life!!

The thing you ‘give up’ does not have to be physical. Another way to DETOX during the Lenten season is to renew your MIND daily with words that bring life vs. death.  
Ways to transform your mind and spirit include the following:

1. In a journal or put loud daily state your I Am's:  I am a  strong and loved child of God.  I am healthy.  What you tell yourself will happen will happen! 

2.  Read daily or listen to something motivational or uplifting. Staring your morning with a positive message benefits you all day. Podcasts or audio books allow you to multitask while going through your morning routine. 

3.  Spend time with only positive people. We tend to mirror the people we spend the most time with, so chose your friends wisely. 

4.  Honor God by memorizing scripture and recite daily versus like the one below.  
Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true whatever is noble whatever is right whatever is pure whatever is lovely whatever is admirable if anything is excellent or praiseworthy the think about such things and the God of peace will be with you! (Phil 4:8)

Through scripture we know that God values our bodies.  Our bodies are said to be temples of the Holy Spirit.  
Tomorrow starts the Lent for 40 days.  One way to honor God with your body is through FASTING.

A partial fast that will transform your health and waistline is giving up the most inflammatory foods (dairy, wheat, sugar, alcohol and caffeine).  Average weight loss 8-20 pounds.  

When tempted to eat those foods write in praise journal your many blessings (Savior, friends, family, shelter, etc).  Focus on friends vs food!

If Jesus did not eat for 40 days we can give up JUNK for 40 days.
